Premises beautifully modernised, tasteful and very welcoming. Owners and staff very welcoming, pleasant and engaging. Impressed with kitchen and work of chef from first principles. Bedroom very comfortable.
Tv wasn't working (aerial problem) and bit of traffic noise (in front room)

Appreciated spending my time in this clean boutique hotel. The room was extremely pleasant and generous-sized with big warm fluffy towels and my experience was very nice. The staff were lively, the breakfast I had was nice hot with eggs on order. The location was very pretty and incredible, just close to Acklam Village Market.

Everyone very friendly and very axious to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms, decor and finish were all excellent as was the breakfast. The only fault would be that in the Cosy Room there were no Tea making facilities.

We loved the hotel, very modern, nice decor, comfy bed, and a beautiful bathroom. Nice pub downstairs , all the people working there are very nice and helpful.
Perhaps it needs to get free wifi to be the best hotal in London.

Superb front desk staff and personable, hands-on owner.
Size of room was appallingly small. Think two adults cubically contained in a doll house room. Hotel restaurant/ bar and live music occasioned late night drunken revelry outside our window. Breakfast next morning was disorganized: nothing was ready on time, one staff member looked like he'd just woken up from said night of revelry the evening before; coffee was weak; food came out in dribs and drabs. Evening meals in the restaurant are overpriced, given quality and quantity. Variety of on-tap beers in restaurant needs a major overhaul.

The room was extremely small, however it was modern, newly furbished (IKEA-style) and it had all the comfort one needs on a business trip. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room is extremely small for a couple (with my tiny suitcase open, i literally had no further room to swing around) although it was perfectly fine for me alone. Also while the location is greatly connected to Notting Hill and the rest of central London, I would not call it the safest areas after 10.00 pm. It also gets really noisy with the pub downstairs.

We really enjoyed our stay at the portobello house. Its location to Ladbroke Grove Tube station and direct link to Paddington station made it ideal for our base. The rooms were excellent and food in the Restaurant also very good.

I loved being just a short stroll away from the vibrant Notting Hill area and beautiful Kensington Gardens. The hotel also offered cozy rooms with great tea and coffee facilities.

Small and warm atmosphere. Enthusiastic owner trying to make a really nice hotel. Clean and new. Location is good and frequent buses running 24 hours right in front of the hotel and tube is very close. Looking forward to visiting again when it's complete.
No lift but small hotel so there is not space for a lift for only 2 floors. Some noise coming from the street but didn't wake us up. No lobby area to sit.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the two receptionists. The atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant in the evening was great. The meal we had was excellent with good service. The decor was lovely.
The rooms were smaller than expected from looking on the website. I booked a club room with king size bed. There was a small outside patio near our room which was very nice, however, it was frequented by noisy smokers at night when we were trying to sleep. I would have preferred not to have pop music playing at breakfast time, or to hear the chef disciplining one of his staff in view of the guests.

The king room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a powerful shower and tea and coffee facilities. Access to public transport was convenient. Breakfast options were limited, and staff presence at breakfast could have been better.

I booked it because of the amazing location- moments from portobello road and the restaurant where I was eating that night. The photos online looked attractive and the description was boutique hotel.
This was not a boutique hotel! It was a pub with rooms upstairs. The room had none of the usual comforts to make my stay special. No rOom service, no bottled water let alone a mini bar, no tea/facilities. When I asked for a kettle they said no, and would not bring me cOffee to the room despite having a decent coffee machine in the bar downstairs. The reception staff were young, unprofessional and had a poor grasp of English. Breakfast was unpressive and help yourself. When I asked for proper coffee (I didn't like the look of the thermos flask filtered on offer) I was told it would cost me extra therm it took 10 minutes to arrive. Given the room rate, a major disappointment.
